Egypt has proposed a ceasefire to end a week of cross-border fire between the Gaza Strip and Israel. The initiative urges a ceasefire starting imminently¹ followed by a series of meetings in Cairo with high-level delegations² from both sides.

 

埃及提出停火倡议，以结束加沙地带和以色列之间已经持续一周的交火。该倡议要求双方立即实施停火，并在开罗进行高级别代表会谈。

 

对于埃及提出的“停火倡议”（ceasefire calls/proposals），以色列方面表示总理的安全内阁（security cabinet）会进行讨论，而哈马斯方面则表示在达成政治协议（political agreement）之前不会停火。哈马斯在加沙的一位领导人表示，他们寻求的不仅是冲突的结束（an end to the fighting），还要结束以色列对加沙地带的全面封锁（blockade）。

 

从上周二开始，巴勒斯坦伊斯兰抵抗运动（Islamic Resistance Movement，Hamas哈马斯）向以色列发射火箭弹（rockets），而以色列方面则对加沙地带（Gaza Strip）进行了一系列空袭（air strike）。巴勒斯坦方面表示，以色列空袭已导致至少185人死亡，其中约有四分之三为平民（civilians）。昨日，以色列在单方面宣布停火6小时后再次开始对加沙进行空袭。
