More Chinese cities will be given legislative1 powers, according to a draft amendment2 to the 2000 Legislation Law delivered to the country's top legislature for deliberation on Monday.

 
据周一提交全国人大常委会审议的《立法法》修正案（草案）规定，立法权将扩大到更多城市。该法是自2000年颁布施行的。
 
现行的《立法法》中只有49个较大的市才享有的地方立法权（local legislative power），修正案草案中拟将地方立法权扩大到全国282个设区的市（cities with subordinate districts）。
 
不过，这些地方立法权仅限于城市建设（urban construction）、市容管理（city appearance management）、环境保护（environmental protection）等城市管理方面的事项。
