A mysterious piece of plane debris¹ washed up on the French Indian Ocean island of La Reunion on July 29, prompting teams of international investigators² to examine whether it could be part of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

7月29日，法属留尼汪群岛上出现了一块神秘的飞机残骸，国际调查团队正在检测这块残骸是否属于失踪的马航MH37。

 

“飞机残骸”可以用plane debris/wreckage表示， debris 指碎片、残骸，如碎片云（debris cloud）。Wreckage也表示残骸，不过wreckage指被毁坏物体遗留下来的残骸；debris则是毁坏过程中四散开来或者飞出去的的残骸碎片，此外debris还有垃圾的意思，如海洋废弃物（marine debris）、太空垃圾（space debris）。

 

波音公司相关人员通过照片和残骸比对进行初步评估（conduct an initial assessment），新发现的残骸与波音777客机襟副翼（flaperon）部分有一定相似度，但没有透露更多细节。
