Fassage是由facial（脸部按摩）和massage（按摩）组合而成的新词。这种各取两个词中的一部分构成新词的方法叫做拼缀法。类似的词语还有brunch（早中饭），由breakfast（早餐）+lunch（午餐）组成，如今大家非常熟悉的smog（雾霾）则是由smoke（烟）+fog（雾）拼缀而成的。
