Feb.26 - A memorial hall in Tongliang county, Chongqing metropolis1, first created to commemorate2 Qiu Shaoyun, a fallen hero in the Korean War, has been turned into something more like a playground, according to CRI.

 

Though few visitors come specifically to commemorate the hero, the hall has become a popular site for romping3 kids and heckling hawkers, CRI reported quoting Beijing Daily Messenger.

 

The head of the memorial hall, Wang Chengjin says that it has been necessary to lease out several of the hall's rooms to alleviate4 the financial pressure of its upkeep.

 

Wang said that his team plans to transform the memorial hall into a venue5 combining patriotic6 education, tourism and public amusement.
