如何使用would rather

在休息日的早晨，比起赖在床上什么也不做，你是不是宁愿早点起床呢？Would you rather get up early? 这里的 “would rather” 就相当于 “宁愿做某事”，你会用固定句式 “would rather... than...” 表示你更情愿做两件事情当中的一件吗？

 

1. We use 'would rather + verb' to say what we would ideally¹ prefer to do.

用 “would rather + 动词” 描述更情愿做的事情。

 

I would rather be in bed today than be in the office.

 

2. We use 'than' to introduce a contrasting idea.

用 “would rather + 动词 + than + 动词” 来对比情愿做和不愿意做的事情。

 

I would rather watch TV than do my homework.
