淘尽狂沙

按 pan out本 来 是 淘 金 用 语 。 淘 金 者 用 淘 金 盆 (pan)把 沙 砾 洗 掉 ， 叫 做 pan out the sand— — 这 里 的 pan字 作 动 词 用 。 由 于 必 须 淘 尽 狂 沙 才 可 以 知 道 淘 金 结 果 ， 所 以 ， pan out后 来 也 引 伸 为 「结 果 是 … … 」的 意 思 ， 例 如 ︰ Nobody can tell how the negotiations¹ will pan out(谁 都 不 知 道 谈 判 会 有 甚 么 结 果 )。
