Chinanews, Beijing, April 13 - According to a report by China Youth Daily, about 785.9 thousand drug addicts2 had been put on file by the end of last March.

 

China started to enhance administration over drug addicts last August, when the Ministry3 of Public Security announced that a dynamic database of the information of drug addicts nationwide would be built.

 

Last January, with the help of the database, Zhangzhou (in Fujian Province) police cracked a drug smuggling4 case, with 6 suspects arrested, and 1,100 g of drugs confiscated5.

 

Several days later, on last January 18, during the registration6, Tibetan police found that a drug addict1 there should be responsible for a robbery in Sichuan in April 2006.
