China's biggest auto industrial center to be built in Jilin

Chinanews, Changchun, May 17 - Jilin, one of the leading auto1-producing provinces in China, is planning to build the biggest auto industrial center in China.
Auto industry is the backbone2 of Jilin's economy. There are more than 320 autos and auto parts producers in Changchun of Jilin Province, generating a total annual output value of 150 billion yuan.
Taking FAW Group in Changchun as an example, which has been producing and selling more than one million vehicles every year since 2004. Its goal in 2007 is to produce and sell one million cars. Currently, FAW has set up auto parts producers in several other Asian and African countries and Russia.
In the next five years, Jilin will invest some 60 billion yuan to build the auto industrial center, including 100 key projects of the production lines of modern trucks, cars, SUVs, etc. When the industrial center is completed, Changchunwill be able to produce at least 1.8 million vehicles every year.
