Chinanews, Guangzhou, May 23 - According to Zhang Feng, the director of Guangdong Family Planning Commission, in the next 10 years, there will be four or five million men who can't find wives due to severe imbalanced sex ratio. Zhang suggests that a strengthened sex ratio adjustment plan should be included in the provincial1 Party chief's work to the upcoming annual provincial Party conference.

 

In fact, latest statistics show that the sex ratio of China in 2000 was 100:117, while the figure in Guangdong was 100:130. In 2005, the figure in Guangdong dropped to 100:119, while the national figure remained the same.

 

"Five years of hard work has achieved a great deal in Guangdong, but it is still far from enough. For imbalanced sex ratio can be a great risk to the building of a harmonious2 society," said Zhang.
