Chinanews, Zhengzhou, May 25 – On Thursday, an economic investment and trade fair was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. At the two-day trade fair, Chinese companies discussed with German businesspeople about the cooperative project for the German Parchim airport. They also held talks with Niger businesspeople on developing the electric power projects in Niger.

 

It is said that at the trade fair, Linde Group, a Chinese company in Henan, had won the biding1 and obtained the permanent ownership right to use the German Parchim Airport and all the accessories near the airport. The two sides have signed an agreement on the cooperative project. From now on, Chinese aviation companies will have their own transfer base in Europe.

 

Henan Linde Group spent one billion yuan in buying the permanent ownership right of the German airport. The two sides have agreed to set up a bonded2 economic area in and near the Parchim Airport. The airport will be used to promote economic cooperation between Europe and Henan.

 

Parchim Airport was built in Schwerin city in Germany. Sitting between Hamburg and Berlin, the airport was built by former Soviet3 Union as a military airport. The airport with its advanced equipment can be used to land all kinds of civil planes, including A380, the largest passenger plane in the world. Aeroplanes taking off from Parchim Airport can reach most of the large airports in Europe within two hours’ flight. Parchim Airport launched a global bidding at the end of 2006 and Henan Linde Group finally won the bid among 11 bidders4.
