　1976 年的专辑 "Destroyer" 是Kiss合唱团首张获得白金销售量的专辑，主要得力于这首名列单曲榜第七名的 " Beth " 。一般认为这首歌是鼓手 Peter Criss 献给妻子的作品，但事实上却是 Peter Criss 加入 Kiss 之前的个人专辑中合作的吉他手 Stan Penridge 献给女友所写的，歌曲原名是" Becky "，这首歌后来由制作人 Bob Ezrin 和 Peter Criss 改写歌词，曲名更改为 " Beth " ，并且由 Peter Criss 主唱。巧的是 Peter Criss 的妻子 Lydia 昵称就叫 Beth，因此这首歌被认为是写给她的情歌。
　特别一提的是 Kiss 的华丽现场演场会， 常使用卡通或奇特的装扮，成为七十年代许多年轻人的偶像。纽约人 Gene1 Simmons 以及 Paul Stanley 在 Wicked Lester 乐队的基础上成立了 Kiss 合唱团，他们通过 Rolling Stone 杂志刊登广告雇佣了鼓手 Peter Criss 和吉他手 Ace2 Frehley。在每次演出时，Simmons 装扮成为蜥蝪般的魔鬼，Stanley则脸涂星型，Frehley 则是外星人，Criss 是猫人打扮。
