China and US jointly break big piracy cases

Chinanews, Guangzhou, July 30 – Chinese police and the FBI have jointly1 conducted a big anti-piracy campaign since the beginning of this summer, with pirated software worth nearly $500 million confiscated2, including several stolen mother discs of Microsoft products, each worth at least 15 million yuan.

 

Twenty-five suspects have been arrested in the campaign, and 360 thousand copies of pirated software confiscated. Houses, vehicles and properties of the suspects have been sealed by the police, too.
