The survey was released by Career Consultant1 Company, a well-known human resources agent. White collars from the four cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen took part in the survey, most of them aged2 between 28 and 32 with their income varying from 3,000 yuan to 5,000 yuan a month, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
The survey shows that made white-collars in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, who are willing to become full-time3 househusbands account for 22%, 73%, 34% and 32%, respectively, with Beijing having the least proportion and Shanghai the highest. Men in two cities also display a totally different view towards rich women. In Beijing, only 15% of men are interested in marrying a wealthy woman, while in Shanghai, the proportion is as high as 46%.
Although most men in Beijing do not like to stay at home, according to Liu Jun, a psychologist at Aihui Psychiatric Consulting Office, it might benefit the children if fathers can spend more time at home because they can thus teach their children to become more independent and strong-willed. In addition, men who spend too much time on their career might suffer from some physical and mental pressure brought by work. Shifting to a new lifestyle can help them alleviate4 their work pressure. In addition, men staying at home can also promote relationship between husband and wife.
“The key is not who should stay but who can develop their full potentials at home,” the expert said.
