On Sunday night, one of the adventurers called the police to say that they had fallen into the river in the Nanpanjiang River when rafting.
After the incident, local police, medical workers and more than 2,000 residents3 arrived on the scene to rescue the adventurers. At one o'clock on Monday morning, four were saved and sent to local hospital for treatment. They didn't have any life-threatening dangers. Later, rescuers found a dead body of a woman near the scene. However, her identification4 was not confirmed yet.
One of the adventurers told the police that their group consisted of five Chinese and two Americans. On Sunday, they started to raft at the Nuozu Dam point in the Nanpanjiang River. After drifting5 for one kilometer, the raft turned over and they all fell into the water. Right now, of the seven persons, three, including an American Michael, are still missing.
Local officials in Mile County have informed the government at the lower reaches of the river to search for the missing people. However, rescuers say there's only a slim chance that these people could survive.
