Doctors in Nanjing say that these months they have received about 100% more patients than last year, and 70% of them are students.

“Many of my classmates have taken plastic surgeries, and they have got used to the pain ensuing therefrom,” said a girl in Nanjing. Statistics also show that the number of juveniles3 taking plastic surgeries has leapt by 500% since 1997. It is said that a girl of 9 has undergone a cosmetic operation, too.
“It is understandable for young people to take to facelifting, for they have to deal with severe competition in the society, ” said a doctor.
