Tibet to host group wedding for HK, Macao and Taiwan people

Chinanews, Hong Kong, September 3 – Tibet regional government will invite 99 young couples from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to take part in a group wedding in October 18 – 25, for since the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway to traffic, Tibet, with its clean environment and unique plateau1 atmosphere, has attracted more and more young people from these places for sightseeing tours.

 

Meanwhile, the 2nd Contest for the Face of Tibet will be held by then, to crown2 Miss Tibetan Tourism.

 

The invitation has been published on the recent Takunpao. The 99 couples will be able to experience the Tibetan lifestyle and romantic Tibetan wedding. Not many Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan people have been to Tibet, thus it will be a good chance for them to know the place better.

 

At the wedding ceremony, several evergreen3 trees will be planted beside the Lahasat Bridge on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. All the young couples will be asked to sign their names on the Tibet Environmental Protection Declaration4.
