| Chinanews, Beijing, September 14 – Stanley Ho, Chairman of the Shun Tak Group, iAsia Technology and the Chinese Recreation Club, donated 5 art objects to the National Museum of China, including 3 oil paintings and 2 bronze statues, all produced in 1997, when Hong Kong returned to China.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong and the founding of the Hong Kong SAR, thus a batch2 of art objects produced at that time were auctioned4 for charity to celebrate the event. Mr. Ho bought the five art objects in the auction3 and donated them to the National Museum. “I am very happy to send these historical art objects to the National Museum at such a special time. Let us all work hard for a bright future for our country, for without the support of the central government and all the Chinese people, Hong Kong and Macao wouldn’t have achieved so much,” said Ho on September 12, at a ceremony held in the National Museum in honor of the donation.
