Boeing estimated that China would need only 330 new small aircraft in the next 20 years. However, according to Wang Boxue, a researcher on the aviation industry of China, Boeing’s estimation doesn’t include propeller1 aircraft. Besides, CAICI believes that many local airlines in China will have a very good business, so they might need to buy more small aircraft.
The CAICI is also confident in becoming one of the major aircraft suppliers in China with its Xinzhou-60 and ARJ21 series. Now, CAICI has received orders for 98 Xinzhou-60s and 71 ARJ21s. It has also founded a regional airline company jointly2 with the China Eastern Airlines, which will need at least 10 Xinzhou-10 aircraft.
