Chinanews, Harbin, September 24 – A report by Harbin Daily shows that in 2006 3 million Chinese died of cancer. It is estimated that cancer will kill more than 4 million Chinese by 2020.

 

The 10th National Conference of Clinical Oncology and the 2007 Annual Meeting of CSCO was kicked off last week, and a press briefing was held on September 20. According to the information revealed at the briefing, the incidence of lung cancer is the highest among all the malignant1 tumors of male patients, while breast cancer is the top among females. Lung cancer is also the most fatal killer2 in China.

 

Compared with 20 years ago, the incidence of lung cancer has increased by more than 100%. Apparently3, air pollution should be blamed. Most patients are either very young or very old, including babies of several months old.

 

Colon4 and recta cancers have also become common, with the popularity of unhealthy diet.
