Chinanews, Chongqing, September 25 – Last week, a dating party was held in Chongqing, with 200-plus young white collars participating, all their eyes covered with blindfolds1.

 

Such dating parties are very popular in Beijing and Shanghai. They are said to be imported from the US.

 

In the first 8 minutes of the party, everyone has to charm2 others with their voice, as no one can see anything with their eyes covered. They usually talk or play games with each other.

 

After the 8 minutes, the participants will be allowed to take off the blindfolds, when they can see their friends. But the “8 dark minutes” usually matter much more for them to impress each other.

 

The party in Chongqing only invited college graduates with a monthly3 income of at least 3,000 yuan (for men) or 2,000 yuan (for women).

 

Nine couples fell in love at the party, but they will still have to work harder to deal with a slew4 of challenges in the future.
