Fifty-five military observers of 35 countries were invited to China to review the “Warrior-2007” motorized infantry1 military maneuver2 held in the Taonan Training Base of the Shenyang Military Area Command.

 
Chinanews, Beijing, September 26 – Fifty-five military observers of 35 countries were invited to China to review the “Warrior-2007” motorized infantry military maneuver held in the Taonan Training Base of the Shenyang Military Area Command.

 

This is the fifth time for China to invite foreign military observers to review the maneuver of the People's Liberation Army since 2003, and also the first time for it to invite so many observers.

 

“Warrior” maneuver is held every year, without any political background. It is meant to increase the PLA's capability3 in using motorized equipment and the organizing ability of PLA commanders.

 

“We will learn a lot from foreign observers, and it is our wish to start military cooperation with other countries. I believe the maneuver will increase mutual4 trust, communication and cooperation among us,” said Liu Zhenwu, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the PLA.
