| BEIJING, Dec. 18 - Six-nation talks aimed at convincing North Korea to give up its nuclear program began at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse Monday morning.
The six parties, namely, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK),Japan and Russia, are holding a meeting between chief negotiators, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry3. An opening ceremony is due at 10:50 am (0250 GMT), after which the envoys4 will gather for multilateral and bilateral5 meetings. No time frame has officially been set for the talks.
