Nov. 2 - Chinese Premier1 Wen Jiabao departed for Uzbekistan Friday morning to attend a prime ministers' meeting for members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

 

The prime minister's meeting, the sixth of such kind, will be held from Friday to next Tuesday in the Uzbekistan's capital of Tashkent.

 

After the meeting, the Chinese premier will visit Turkmenistan, Belarus and Russia to exchange ideas on deepening2 cooperation in various fields, and international and regional issues of common concern.

 

During his stay in Russia, Wen Jiabao will also participate in the closing ceremony of the "Year of China" in Russia, an event that has involved various activities covering politics, economy, culture, science and social life.
