Chinanews, Shanghai, November 8 – Shenzhen is the place of many young people's dreams, as here anyone can be successful if one works hard enough. However, to live in Shenzhen also means great pressures, which has caused permanent psychological diseases to 21.19% of Shenzheners, more than 2,000 of whom take their own lives every year.

 

Most of the female suicides have emotional problems. It is said that the gender1 ratio of male against female is 1:7 in Shenzhen, thus many women here remain unmarried. Meanwhile, quite a large number of men here only want to enjoy sex but not willing to take up the family responsibilities, not to mention that some of them take advantage of lonely women for sex, money or love.

 

A hospital in Shenzhen received three female suicides in a day last March.

 

If one could often communicate with family members or friends, it is less likely for one to suffer from pressures, but it is impossible for migrants in Shenzhen to acquire such a shelter in a totally strange city to them.
