Chinanews, Guangzhou, November 28 – According to a latest research, most Guangzhouers appreciate health and harmonious1 life, but to them, marriage and material comfort are of the least importance.

 

The research was conducted in last September, to find out the values of modern Guangzhouers, covering 1,006 respondents.

 

Generally, the basic values of Guangzhouers have remained unchanged since the past few years, as more than 90% of the respondents share the similar values appreciating health, family, harmonious society, freedom and a prosperous2 China.

 

About 94.8% of the respondents say that their top concern is health, and health has remained to be the first concern of Guangzhouers for 18 years.

 

Appreciating family means that though Guangzhou is a modern metropolis3, Guangzhouers are still very traditional in social life. Family is the core4 of the value of Guangzhouers.

 

Marriage and love used to be major concerns of Guangzhouers in the 1990s, but now they are not that important.
