Chinanews, Suzhou, Dec. 21 – People in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province enjoy making wine in winter. Wine made by traditional winery at the time of the year, is quite popular among local people. According to local custom, drink such wine at the time of Winter Solstice (Dec. 22 or 23) is a must.

 

According to historians1, local people had started to make wine in winter way back in the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.). Local residents2 say that most children and women in Suzhou also like to drink such wine.
