Farmer sets up a zoo to protect wild animals

Chinanews, Nanchang, Dec. 25 – Pan Jiyun, a farmer in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province has set up a private zoo to protect wild animals. Most of the animals he raises are national protected species.

 

Pan enjoys staying with the animals, and he has saved many wild animals lives by giving hunters money. Mr. Baer, an American ornithologist1, met Pan 29 years ago. They found a very precious bird in 1978. From then on, Pan has devoted2 great efforts to wild animal protection.

 

According to Pan, all those wild animals were bought from his fellow villagers.
