Chinanews, Beijing, January 11 – Emergency announcement in some 8,000 restaurants, gyms, department stores, etc in Beijing will be in both Chinese and English from April, 2007. Besides bilingual announcement, unfailing illumination and safety signs will be installed to guarantee a secure environment.

 

Zhou Yuqiu, the director of Beijing Municipal Administration of Work Safty, released the information on January 9, at a news briefing.

 

According to Zhou, Beijing will make detailed1 safety regulation, which will be the first time ever. It can be estimated that the regulations will contribute a lot to the 2008 Olympics.

 

“A check-up will be conducted in April, and a fine will be imposed on enterprises the fail to apply safety measures at that time,” said Zhou.
