成功“换脸术”

2005年，一名法国女子面部被狗严重咬伤，后被医生“嫁接”了另一名脑死亡者的鼻子、嘴唇和下巴。时隔一年，临床结果显示，“换脸”手术效果极佳，患者的面部知觉日趋敏感，面部灵活性也日益增强。

The medical team at the hospital in Amiens in northern France issued a new photo and a statement Monday, exactly a year after they transplanted the lips, nose and chin of a brain-dead woman onto Isabelle Dinoire.

报道中的“face transplant”就是我们所说的“换脸术”，医学上常称之为“面部移植术”。这位法国患者因仅被移植了“鼻子、嘴唇和下巴”，所以，更确切一点，这种手术应被叫做“partial facial transplant”（局部面部移植），与其相对应的为“full facial transplant”（完整面部移植）。

医学上，transplant（移植）常指“将组织或器官从一身体或身体部位移到另一个身体或身体部位”，如heart transplant（心脏移植手术）、 surgical² transplant of a cornea（眼角膜外科移植术）。

此外，“移植”还可用“graft”来表示，如：The 38-year-old woman had a nose, lips and chin grafted³ onto her face from a brain-dead donor⁴.（这为38岁妇女接受了换脸手术，医生把一名脑死亡捐赠者的鼻子、嘴唇和下巴移植给了她。）
