Addressing over 6,000 people who gathered in Oslo's Spektrum arena¹ for the memorial service, Norwegian King Harald V told the nation of 5 million people that Norway would surmount² its pain.

报道中的memorial service即“悼念仪式”或“悼念活动”，在当天的悼念活动中，民众通过poem recitation（诗朗诵）、lay a wreath（献花圈）、flags flew at half-staff（降半旗）等方式表达他们对遇难者的哀思。

或许我们会诧异，为什么号称“人间净土”的挪威会发生如此atrocity（暴行）。挪威拥有世界上最高的average life span（平均寿命），GDP per capita（人均国内生产总值）接近6万美元，人人享受from cradle to the grave（从摇篮到坟墓）的welfare policy（福利政策）。

但是近年来大量influx³ of migrants（移民涌入），造成criminal offense（刑事犯罪）增加，移民领取social relief（社会救济）的比例远高于本土挪威人。此外，涌入的Islamist（伊斯兰教徒）与当地的Christian（基督徒）之间也时有宗教冲突。而挪威境内的the extreme right wing（极右翼分子）、nationalist（民粹主义者）、exclusionist（排外主义者）等煽动hatred ideology（仇恨意识），使昔日的“自由天堂”渐渐成了恐怖主义的breeding ground（温床）。
