The boom in the local building industry has brought great demand for furniture in Central Asian countries; however, as local furniture makers can not meet the domestic needs, their Chinese counterparts have grasped the good opportunity, particularly those in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous2 Region, for they share similar folk customs of Central Asian countries.
At present, Central Asian countries are the second biggest market for furniture makers in Urumqi, next to the US. Actually, 89% of furniture makers there treat Central Asian countries as their most important clients.
