Chinanews, Guangzhou, February 6 – Guangdong Provincial1 Department of Land and Resources said that it would impost2 a tax on those who own more than one housing.

 

However, it will be very difficult to put this policy into practice. Quite a lot of Cantonese have more than one housing, thus it will be very difficult to tell extra housings. Besides, many people buy extra housings in the name of their relatives.

Han Shitong, an expert on the property industry, agrees to this point of view. “The government should supply more land, and encourage real estate developers to build more small-sized housings,” said Han.
