There is no official explanation for "moral corruption¹", but an official from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection² said the term means that an official has at least three mistresses, the Henan Business News reported.

 

据《河南商报》报道，“道德败坏”尚未出官方解释，不过中纪委的一名工作人员称“道德败坏”指的是一名官员至少有三个情妇。

 

“道德败坏”的英文表达是moral corruption，据中纪委工作人员透露，该词的含义是有三个及三个以上情妇（夫）。许多贪官都曾通过情妇make profits with their power（以权谋私）。

 

郭永祥因“道德败坏”被“双开”，即stripped of Party membership and expelled from public office（被开除党籍和公职）。
