open sesame 芝麻开门

“芝麻开门”的英语就是open sesame，英语释义是“something that makes it very easy to achieve a particular thing”，形容（达到…的）法宝，通行手段，开门咒语。用法就是搭配to，比如：

 

Academic success is not always an open sesame to a well-paid job.

在校成绩好并非总是获得高薪职位的敲门砖。

 

补充一些和open sesame差不多意思的表达。

 

shortcut¹ 既是空间上的“近路，捷径”，比如：

 

I know a shortcut to town.

我知道一条去城里的近路。

 

也是（做某事的）捷径：

 

Fame can be a shortcut to love and money.
